Flickr Easy Photo Post

A few tools already exist [1] to post photos into comments on Flickr.com, but they all need you to cut and paste some obscure code snippet.

This is hardly practical when you want to post more than one photo, can be prone to error and well, didn’t fully suit me.

Yet Another Way To Post Photo In Comments | 2 March 2007, by Mortimer

So, as usual, I open my little code editor, loaded the greasemonkey template and started hacking Flickr.

This script will remember the 15 last photos [2] you have visited and display their thumbnail over every comment box on Flickr.

  1. Get Firefox
  2. Install GreaseMonkey
  3. restart Firefox
  4. If you liked the script, think about helping me back and consider a small donation, click the paypal button on the right.
  5. Click on the following icon and select "Install"
    greasemonkey - 10 kb
    6631 download(s) since 25 July 2007

You can select the size you want to post and then click on the thumbnail of the photo of interest to insert the obscure voOdOo code in the comment field. You can repeat that for all the photos you want, and you are done.

So how would you use it?

  1. visit the photo you want to post somewhere else,
  2. go to the discussion where you want to post,
  3. click on "Post a photo...",
  4. select the size,
  5. click on the thumbnail of the shot you want,
  6. post the comment.

Make a Donation

7 user(s) already donated a total of 24.6£ to this project.

Donation don't have to be big to make a difference. I already received donations ranging from 0.50£ to 10£ and all of them made me happy. Think of it, if the thousand users of these tools made a small donation, it would not make a big difference to them, but it would to me.

You will probably enjoy using what you download from this website and if so, you can decide to make a donation. Making a donation is optional but will help to develop new tools and support the existing code.

All the software, scripts and other tools distributed on this web site are distributed under open source licenses and are available to download for free. Making the code free and available to all doesn't means it's of lower quality. The tools provided here are fully functional and their author invested some of his personal time to develop them and provide support to their users.

Think about it.

P.S.

If you opened a photo in another tab and it doesn’t appear in the list of thumbnails, try reloading the photo page, then the discussion page.

If you are interested in using this on Ipernity, please go and check: Ipernity Easy Photo Post. Note that I am not the creator or maintainer of the Ipernity script.
