Flickr Interesting Groups

Interestingness is a secret tool of Flickr.com that is supposed to include many VooDoo rules to sort out what people prefer on the site and who is cheating to get on the explore page.

Some say some groups are blacklisted but it’s difficult to verify. Just to have a better idea of what’s going on behind and see who’s the most interesting group on Flickr.com, I put together this little tool.

If you find this list interesting, have a look at More Flickr Interesting Stats that provides statistics about camera models and softwares used for the top 50 interesting shots.

The computation is simple but it makes a substantial amount of requests to flickr servers so the list will only be refreshed every 24 hours and only looks at the 50 most interesting images returned by flickr at that time.

It’s interesting (hehe) to see that 1-2-3 comment groups are quite up in the list, like HDR and Bokeh groups.

There is probably a bug as I can’t find a kitten dedicated group in the listgrand sourire
