Flickr: More Exif Info 0.6

This is a greasemonkey script to display more information from the EXIF data directly on the user page.

1Photo Meta Data

When a photo is uploaded on Flickr, it extracts the meta data it contains and displays part of it (date taken, camera model) next to the photo.

These meta data provide more information about the photo but you cannot see them directly in the photo page. This script spares you a page load by displaying directly the additional information you are interested in on the photo page.

2Installation

If you are a Chrome user, you just have to click on the monkey face at the last step.

Baixar e instalar o Firefox
Instalar o GreaseMonkey
Recomeçar o Firefox (fechar o programa e abrí-lo novamente)
Clicar no ícone abaixo e selecionar "Install"

3Configuration

To configure which information you want to see, go into the "More properties" of a photo. You will see checkboxes next to each existing additional data for that photo. Check the one you want to display directly

4Tagging

You will see a small [+] next to each additional info. If you click on it, this info will be added to the photo tags automatically.

As some info are not really well formatted for tagging, I introduced a way of reformatting them, you can set regexp replacement rules to be applied before tagging.

For example, there is a rule telling that an exif info "Exposure: 0.005 sec (1/200)" should be added as the tag "1/200s".

  Have you installed greasemonkey??
  
  When you have done that, just click on the icon in the middle of this page (where it says too), you will have an install dialogue, click "install".
  
  Now, go to a photo with the "more properties" link on the right, click on it. You will see the EXIF data for that photo with check next to them.
  Check the one you are interested in.
  Now when you go back to the photo page (or any other photo with these data available), then they will show directly on the left of the photo.

This is brilliant, I love it!! Really great idea.

But is there any way to automatically configure properties to be shown for ALL of your photographs?

Wow. This is awesome! Exactly the way Flickr should work. I’ve been wanting to see exposure info directly on the picture page for so long. It’s so cool that you figured out a way to add this feature without waiting for Flickr to get around to it.

mmm. Not working correctly for me... i have the checkboxe next to each additional data in "more properties". after checked them is there a button to press for apply ? because the picture steel have no more data and still the same "more properties" instead. i’m using firefox 2 and have flickr in french.

Nice work !

It would be also useful to be able to add the camera model as a tag.

Hi, first thanks for your great extension.

To make it work for flikr in another language, follow these steps:

1. Go to the GreaseMonkey configuration box (from the bottom-right GreaseMonkey icon)

2. Select Flickr Exif Infos script and click on the Edit button

3. replace the line 151 by this one (if your editor does not show line numbers, search for "more.innerHTML"):

if(more.innerHTML == "More properties" || more.innerHTML == "Plus de dÃ©tails" || more.innerHTML == "Weitere Eigenschaften" || more.innerHTML == "MÃ¡s propiedades" || more.innerHTML == "MÃ¡s propiedades" || more.innerHTML == "Altre proprietÃ " || more.innerHTML == "Mais propriedades")

4. save the file and close the configuration box.

If you reload the flick photo page now, it should work.

  Dude, that made my day. I was wondering why the heck it wasn’t working for me, then the French guy told about the English site and I saw the properties I wanted to see, then...you made it happen. That line should be replaced in the original script! Thanks again

Great script!

Now one more step would make it even better... the ability to input or sort on a particular aspect of the EXIF data, from ALL one’s photos in their Photostream. For example, I am selling my 75-300 Canon lens. I would love to be able to put into a script somewhere, 75-300 and it will return all my images that have a focal length between that range, thereby returning all the images to me, to view (and show some of them to the potential buyer), that were taken with that particular lens.

Any chance for something like this to be included (or maybe as a separate script?).

  This would be pretty hard to do with the features Flickr provides with their APIs to the developers. It would be something that Flickr should implement on their side I think.

Thanks for the script. I have one question though. In the screenshot, it shows the EXIF info on the top then it shows pools and other stuff. How did you rearrange it? I hate scrolling down to the bottom to see the EXIF info. Haha.. I want complete comfort Thanks again.

Hi’m Trying to use the Flickr: More Exif Info 0.4, but it only works if i set the flickr language to english. Would it be possible to make it work in portuguese too? Beside that it’s really helpfull, and i’m recomending it to all my friends. Thaks a LOT! Ps. I’m Using Firefox 3.0.11
