Flickr: Quick Comment

1 March 2007, by Mortimer

So, after seeing the Invite photos to the group from .CK, I decided to release a clean version of my modification to Steeev original Group Promotion Tool.

Flickr Quick Comment {JPEG}

This script also adds a select box, but with random comment that you create yourself. I have created this to manage all the specific signature (when voting, etc...) in comments that are required by a lot of group rules.

To create a new entry in a this drop down menu:

  • select some text on the page (or not)
  • go to the menu Tools->GreaseMonkey->User Script Commands->Add a new quick comment
  • you will be prompted for some informations, fill that in and you are done.
    • ’name’ is the text that will appear in the drop down message,
    • ’comment’ is the comment you want to insert automatically. This will already be filled if you have selected some text on the page.

You can also remove messages you have already recorded, by going to the "edit quick comment" greasemonkey menu item and deselecting the one you do not want any more.

  1. Get Firefox
  2. Install GreaseMonkey
  3. restart Firefox
  4. If you liked the script, think about helping me back and consider a small donation, click the paypal button on the right.
  5. Click on the following icon and select "Install"

The script is now localised in French,Portuguese (thanks to Perla*) and English. To help translate in other languages, please see Help localise Flickr scripts

Make a Donation

1 user(s) have already donated around 1.6£ each to this project, why not do the same?

Donation don't have to be big to make a difference. I already received donations ranging from 0.50£ to 10£ and all of them made me happy. Think of it, if the thousand users of these tools made a small donation, it would not make a big difference to them, but it would to me.

You will probably enjoy using what you download from this website and if so, you can decide to make a donation. Making a donation is optional but will help to develop new tools and support the existing code.

All the software, scripts and other tools distributed on this web site are distributed under open source licenses and are available to download for free. Making the code free and available to all doesn't means it's of lower quality. The tools provided here are fully functional and their author invested some of his personal time to develop them and provide support to their users.

Think about it.
