Gimp XCF Quick Look Plugin

Gimp on OS X has been around for a while and is a good concurrent to the expensive and closed source image processing software like photoshop of pixelmator.

However, getting thumbnails and previews of the content of XCF files generated by Gimp was impossible until now. The introduction of the Quick Look "technology" in Leopard now allows to have meaningful views of your images from the Finder... no more grinning Wilber [1].

1.0 BETA | 18 March 2008, by Mortimer

This is a beta release of version 1.0 of the XCF Quick Look plugin. It is stable and should work with no problems, but the wilber-loves-apple team behind the development of this plugin wants to make sure it is ready for distribution with the Gimp.app package.

For now, it is distributed from this website, but is still need you to install the wilber-loves-apple Gimp.app package [2]. To get it to work, the installation is simple:

  1. download Gimp.app from http://www.wilber-loves-apple.org/
  2. install it where you want
  3. download the following disk image (for Intel Leopard only)
    Disk Image - 43.3 kb
